The Who, the Dead, Santana, etc.

How many times did you cut class to go get tickets at the Fillmore East? I saw some great shows for $6.50! Left Seward at lunch to go get tickets on second avenue! Can't go to a movie for that now! I paid $250 to see Elton John in Vegas in April. Now those tickets are $500!
I took my friends daughter to the R&R Hall of Fame this summer. She was amazed to see a tape of Hendrix. Saw him with Joplin and the Chambers Brothers at the Singer Bowl. Ahhh, the good old days!

HEY, HEY, HEY LESLIE:
I had a friend who use to work security at the Filmore (LOEWS COMMODORE) & a lot of times I'd be able to get for free (gratis, nada).Qicksilver Messenger Service, The FUGS, Otis Redding, Lenny Bruce, Richie Havens (use to hear him jam in a basement on 3rd St. & Ave B) just to name a few of the acts I managed have seen despite the illegal contaminants in the air. I also caught two benefit concerts for A.F.T.R.A (American Federation of Television & Radio Announcers). Each show had 12 or 15 acts performing. One of the Emcees was COUSIN BRUCIE. We were blessed to attend a High School that was so multicultered & so close to the "VILLAGE".The Lower Eastside will forever be the Lower Eastside not the East Village.Ah let us not forget Katz's or Ratners. You'd be surprised at some of the radical minds that came S.P.H.S. Thanks for waking some good old memories.
