It has been years seen I reflected on my times at Seward. I guess I missed any planned reunuions and now that the school is closed; I it is a moot point. I had an awful lot of "growing up" experiences at Seward, and the hard work I put in eventually paid off. I welcome hearing from others who graduated around 1974 and wish you all well. |

I attened Seward Park HS. I lived in New York City for 31 years. I moved to Florida 8 years ago. The answer to Mr. Allan Katz , I believe that the candy store on Clinton and Stanton was Economy Store. It had all sorts of candies. It was like being in Candy Land. |

im from the new school lower manhattan arts academy i just wanted to say wow !! so many history! i didnt know that this school had so much.I was with the last graduating class of seward and i bacame very close with them... i miss them so much. Hello to All from Gainesville, Florida. Miss the old friends. Took a trip passed the school in May 06. We originally lived on Pitt St., then on to Bklyn. My bride also graduated from Seward (Jenny Torres). My sister was an alumni from Seward and returned to teach Spanish (Elba Ortiz) at Seward
I went on to Vietnam (66), returned, NYPD (26 yrs.). The memories of Seward are so vivid. Regards to all!

The class of '76 bicentennial year. Great Dance, Soul and Rock Music. Taxi Driver, Rocky and Car Wash. All in the Family, Larvern and Shirley, Sanford and Son, and Happy Days. Time Square was free of the Disney Virus and Canal Jeans was on Canal Street. No Gap, no Starbucks and no Political Correctness.
It was a very good year. The memories of Seward Park High will always be in my thoughts and in my heart.
My daughter will be a Junior this fall at the New Design High School. It was nice and strange to walk the halls of Seward Park High again.

I was saddened to hear about the breakup of our SPHS. The legacy of successful SPHS alumni is among the greatest not only in NYC, but perhaps the entire USA.
I tell all my friends about the diversie mix of SPHS and how everyone seemed to get along just fine. It was a time when the musical taste of the students was as diverse as the ethnic backgrounds which we came from. A little Saturday Night Fever disco here , some Led Zep rock there, and even the growing punk rock genre with the Sex Pistols was to be heard on sidewalks surrounding SPHS, as supplied by those on break ( or cutting class) .
The teachers I had seemed to give their all towards the success of the students. My favs were Tony Andrisano (Art & TV/ Film Production) , Paul Cinco (Trig) and Hannah Hess (Journalism). Looking forward to hearing from those of you who were around from '77-79. Mainedit@Kronishsports.com |

I was one of the first African Americans from Harlem that attended Seward Park High School. I remember my years there for several reasons below.
1. James Minor and myself used to make announcements in the cafeteria, trying to resurrect the Senor Prom which had not been at SPHS for over ten years. We used the format of the then hot TV show, Rowan & Martin's Laugh In. We were successful and had a prom that year.
2. I was part of the then new SPHS academic program called Pre Tech.
3. I had a crush on Nancy Miller, who I had taken to my JHS 45 prom, but we drifted apart.
