New Scholarship Announced

In honor of Hiawatha Rutland's outstanding contributions to the Lower Manhattan Arts Academy (LoMA) community, the school announces the creation of a scholarship in his name. Hiawatha was an extraordinary educator; he was caring, engaging, thoughtful, funny, hard-working, and inspiring. He possessed an energy and passion for working with students of all backgrounds and levels. He was an exemplary mentor and masterful motivator who instilled a desire for education and social justice in everyone with whom he worked.
